Life’s Journey with True Chews

This post is sponsored by True Chews® Dog Treats and the BlogPaws® Pet Influencer Network™. I am being compensated to help share information about the True Chews line of all-natural dog treats, but a girl and her poms only shares information we feel is relevant to our readers. All statements made reflect my true opinion of the product. True Chews is not responsible for the content of this article.

Life is a journey, isn’t it? I’ve been lucky to share my journey into adulthood with Parker. Growing up I never had a dog.  We had cats and horses, and I was always around dogs at the barn.  I knew the first chance I had I would get a dog of my own.

When I adopted Parker I was a college student. He was a nine week old puppy

who had never experienced life, I was a 20-something who had never experienced owning a dog before.  We truly grew up together.

Being a new puppy owner when I adopted Parker I didn’t know much about ingredients in pet food or treats.  I watched commercials and believed the marketing until Parker started showing symptoms of food allergies.  Back then there wasn’t as much information readily available about pet food ingredients.  There weren’t blogs and Facebook was just beginning.  High quality foods were limited to a few, hard to find brands and many treats were made in China.

I spent hours researching proper canine nutrition, different ingredients and manufacturers.  I learned what Parker could tolerate and what he couldn’t.  I vowed then he would only get all natural food and treats made in the USA, and for twelve years I have stuck to that.

That’s why I love True Chews®  all natural dog treats. They’re made and sourced in the USA from all natural, premium ingredients.  I don’t have to worry about what Parker is eating when he eats True Chews.  He’s getting wholesome treats made from premium cuts of meat.

Parker and I love going on walks. Since we’re both getting older making sure we get enough exercise is just as important as making sure we’re eating well!  Spending time together taking a MLV_7321walk in the park is important bonding time for both of us- time I wouldn’t give up for the world.  I love seeing the joy on his face as he sniffs, runs and explores.  Parker loves getting dirty and running in puddles and  I can’t deny him the fun!  Thankfully he doesn’t mind the post-park bath time!

After our walks we spend some time shopping.  Parker LOVES riding in the cart.  He uses the height to sniff all of the treats and food on the shelves and also to let other customers know he’s there.  There’s nothing Parker loves more than getting attention! Well, maybe getting True Chews!

It has been twelve years since we set out on our journey together.  Parker has helped me learn so much- about responsibility, pet food and ingredients, and most importantly, how to get the most out of the simple things in life like a walk in the park.
